Two parallel rectangular buildings annotated 'Cotts' are depicted at approximately this location on the 1797 Leith Hall Plan of New Leslie (E 33907 and E 33908 CN). Their location an area of uncultivated land is similar to that of buildings annotated 'Sheep Cott' on other plans in the series (E 33870, E 33871 CN, E 33875, E 33876 CN).
