A building annotated Little Mill is depicted at approximately this location on the 1797 plan of New Leslie. It is adjacent to what appears to be a secondary course of the Gadie Burn that ran along the outside of the haugh, and it is orientated at right angles to the stream. This suggests that it was the mill from which the name of the nearby farmstead, Littlemill (NJ52SE 110), was derived.
