NT 4606 7407 An archaeological desk-based survey and evaluation were carried out in July 2007 in advance of a
proposed housing development. The proposed development lies in the designed landscape associated with Elvingston House. The current house and gardens date to 1837, but cartographic evidence indicates that the origins of the house lie in the medieval period. Trial trenching uncovered an area of rig and furrow, but there were no other features of archaeological significance.
Archive deposited with RCAHMS, East Lothian Council SMR.
Funder: Elphinstone Homes.
