Morenish House is a mid-nineteenth century farmstead of courtyard plan on the E bank of the Allt Tir Artair. It is still occupied, though it is no longer a working farm. The main (NW) range and the NE range appear to be largely as mapped on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Perthshire 1867, sheet lxviii). The SE range was added by the date of the 2nd edition of the OS map (Perthshire 1901, sheet lxviiiSE). A mill abuts the W end of the NW range; this is also depicted on the 1st edition map, which shows it was supplied with water from the Allt Tir Artair via a lade. A modern barn now occupies most of the SW side of the courtyard.
Harrison (MS1155/6, p.251) dates the construction of the farmhouse and steading at Morenish to 1841-4, when payments were recorded for bringing slates from Loch Lomond, for masons, wrights and for ironwork.
