Archaeology Notes

NB32SE 37 35643 21680

NB 35643 21680 (centred on) Field survey revealed the remains of two blackhouse structures, one of which had been modified to provide a corralling pen surrounded on the NW and N by a denuded stone enclosure.

NB 35545 21663 Field survey and cartographic research revealed a trackway cut into the hillslope and shown on the current 1:10,000 OS map coverage. The trackway borders an area of rig and furrow aligned SW-NE to the immediate north of the track.

NB 35643 21680 At this location, the remains of two rectangular structures noted from the OS map coverage were recorded. In addition, two lengths of low linear banks approx 0.20m in height and aligned east-west were recorded.
