NS51SW 6.01 c. 5315 1822

Whitehill Colliery Baths, Ayrshire, The Colliery Company have improved the site by removing and reconstructing the ambulance room. The pit entrance is below the central tower. Officials' baths, paid for by the Company, are on the right. The locker rooms are arranged end to end with the bath house behind them. The exterior of the building is finished in cream-coloured cement rendering. The ground in front is to be planted with suitable trees and shrubs. Opening 6th July, 1934. Accommodation 462 men. Cost £8,580 (equivalent to £18 11 shillings per man accommodated). Architect, J A Dempster ARIBA, Miners' Welfare Committee.
