N58 33.6 W3 54.6

NLO: Melvich Bay [name centred NC 887 654]

Pentland Firth [name centred ND 35 81].

(Classified as Fishing Boat: no cargo specified, but date of loss cited as 22 August 1918). Vine: this vessel was left to rot on Melvich Beach after [a] storm.

(Location of loss cited as N58 34.0 W3 55.0).

I G Whittaker 1998.

The location suggested for the loss of this vessel is essentially tentative. The name Melvich Beach presumably applies to the sandy area at the southern extremity of Melvich Bay.
