Stone type: sandstone

Place of discovery: NJ c 2230 6960

Present location: Elgin Museum (1978.158)

Evidence for discovery: found in or near the old graveyard at Kinneddar sometime after 1936.

Present condition: all edges are broken and the carving is worn.

Description

This small fragment, perhaps from a cross-slab, is carved on one broad face with a combination of key pattern and a curvilinear motif.

Date: eighth or ninth century.
