Archaeology Notes

Flood bank / Reclamation. Constructed from loose boulders, backed by wooden railway sleepers with a covering of concrete. On the seaward side are mud flats while on the landward side are fields with crop. Behind the concrete embankment is an earthen bank 2-3m in overall height 4m wide with a deep ditch, 3m wide directly behind it. In places this sea wall is breaking up and attempts have been made to repair it.

CFA/MORA Coastal Assessment Survey 1998.
