Loch Katrine scheme, Ballat Aqueduct Bridge 1 (Muylle Id = 243): This masonry aqueduct bridge, with its cast-iron and concrete covers over its box-section trough, carries the 1855 aqueduct over a tributary of the Auchentroig Burn. There is also a sluice, but there are no covers on the tunnel accesses and the railings are modern. There is wooden enclosure fencing on either side of the bridge with wooden turnstile type-gates. The bridge is shown on Scottish Water drawings: No 4 Kelty Contract, plan 00046.

Information from Jelle Muylle, engineer carrying out a survey of aqueducts and related structures of the Glasgow

Corporation Loch Katrine Waterworks Scheme, 2006.
