NLO: Dunan Ruadh [name: NG 785 191]

Skye [name centred NG 45 35].

Kyleakin, Skye, 15th Aug. The DASH (brigtne.), of St. John's, Nfld., Clachar, from Runcorn to Peterhead, ran on the shallow beach at Duna Rhua [Dunan Ruadh], Sound of Skye, about high water on the 11th Aug., and is neaped on the beach. She will probably have to discharge to get off: damage to vessel inconsiderable.

Source: LL, No. 16,023, London, Friday, August 18 1865.

NMRS, MS/829/72 (no. 10830).

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative.

The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably accepting her successful recovery.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 13 February 2007.
