Two K type aircraft hangars are situated amongst a group of modern hardened shelters.

K type hangars were designed by the Air Ministry Directorate of Works and built by Sir William Arrol and Co., mainly for the maintenance and storage of aircraft. The type K were different to the Type J by virtue of the roof arrangement.

Within this area are nine modern hardened aircraft shelters which are situated to the immediate W of the WW II hangars.
