Thurso, 25th Dec. The DUNROBIN, of Wick, Murray, had her stern stove, and bow-sprit, sails, &c., carried away here in the hurricane of the 19th, by the BETSY DAVIDSON, of Wick, which carried away her moorings: the DUNROBIN afterwards broke from her moorings, and drove up on the East side of the river. [Record received incomplete].

(No classification or cargo specified: date of loss cited as 19 December 1862). Dunrobin: this vessel stranded, high and dry, near Thurso. Capt. Murray. Probably all gone?

(Location of loss cited as N58 36.5 W3 30.0).

A location at ND c. 122 688 may be suggested for this stranding. The River Thurso (Thurso River) enters the SE corner of Thurso Bay through a well-defined mouth.

The location of loss cited by Whittaker remains unverified.
