Archaeology Notes

NJ01NE 58 NJ 07423 16881.

This burnt mound is situated on the W side of a boggy channel about 520m W of Dorback Lodge. Kidney-shaped on plan, it measures 12.5m from N to S by 10.2m transversely and 1.3m in height, with a hollow on the E side. A rectangular building, which lies 70m ESE of the burnt mound, on the E side of the boggy channel and adjacent to a rough track, measures 9.7m from NW to SE by 5.3m transversely over grass-grown footings no more than 0.3m in height.
