NLO: Freswick Bay [name: ND 383 675].

Wick, 26th Sept. A brigantine, belonging to Rostock, from Archangel, for Glasgow, with tar, wood, and feathers, went on shore in the Bay of Freswick [Freswick Bay], near the Pentland Frith [Firth], yesterday, and is likely to become a wreck: the vessel was leaky at sea, and it was the intention of the master to beach her at Freswick: crew landed.

Dunnet by Thurso, 27th Sept. The JULIE, of Rostock, Baselow, from Archangel to the Clyde, with tar and mats, has been run ashore in Freswick Bay waterlogged, having been leaky since 1st Sept.: an attempt was made to tow her off by a steamer, but without success. The materials are saved and the cargo is being discharged, and if the weather continue favourable it is hoped the whole of it will be got out. The vessel will in all probability become a wreck.
