Archaeological Evaluation (March 2005)
NS 671 610 A 5% evaluation in March 2005 within the 30ha site of a proposed residential development on open land identified evidence for prehistoric activity, including two pits and a possible roundhouse. Evidence of post-medieval agricultural activity included plough furrows, a 19th-century well and a drystone wall associated with the demolished Redlawood Farm.

Archaeological Evaluation (April 2006 - May 2006)
NS 669 608, NS 669 610, NS 671 610
A targeted exacavation during April and May 2006, following the results of a previous archaeological evaluation which identified a ring-ditch and several pits containing prehistoric pottery, was carried out by AOC Archaeology Group in advance of a proposed residential development at Newton Farm, to the E of Cambuslang. Limited evidence for post-medieval rig and furrow cultivation was discovered. Three areas of 625m² were opened around the prehistoric ring-ditch and the pits. The ring-ditch was fully excavated along with the pits identified in the other two areas.
