N57 41 W4 3

NLO: Cromarty [name: NH 786 677]

Cromarty Firth [name centred NH 69 67].

Cromarty, 29th Sept. The BELLA (sloop), of Wick, Cormack, for Newcastle, put in here 27th Sept., parted from her anchor, and drove ashore, but is expected off.

Source: The Marine List, LL, No. 13,263, London, Thursday October 2 1856.

NMRS, MS/829/72 (no. 9282).

The location assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary.

The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably suggesting her successful recovery.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 12 October 2006.
