Archaeology Notes (21 January 1999)

NO12NW 51 1470 2625.

The monument comprises an unenclosed settlement of prehistoric date, visible as a series of cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs. It lies on locally high ground in arable farmland at around 70m OD. It comprises a cluster of cropmarks on the summit of a low hill. The cropmarks, both angular and rounded in shape, measure up to 10m by 6m and appear to represent the remains of a series of prehistoric circular and rectangular timber buildings and associated structures.

Information from Historic Scotland, scheduling document dated 21 January 1999.
