Swing bridge [NAT]

OS 1:1250 map, 1972.

This swing bridge formerly spanned the channel between Albert Dock (NT27NE 57.38) and Imperial Dock (NT27NE 57.04), to the S and N respectively. The swinging-recess was on the E. In the apparent absence of a nearby hydraulic power station, it was possibly powered by electricity.

The current edition of the OS (GIS) AIB depicts the channel as having been infilled; the bridge has presumably been removed.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 14 June 2006.
