NLO: Aird Mhor [name centred NG 8632 5483]

Ob Gorm Mor [name centred NM 8680 5487].

Formerly entered in error as NG85SE 28, and assigned to Applecross parish.

On a sheltered shore of a bay on the SE side of the Aird Mhoir peninsula the wreck of a boat or vessel was recorded during a survey of the lands around Loch Torridon by the North of Scotland Archaeological Society (NOSAS). The remains are scattered over an 18m section of shore and consist of rotten oak(?) timbers, metalwork, engine flywheel, galley stove, possible boiler, pots and stone ballast.

NOSAS 2005.
