Pipe Line [NAT]

OS (GIS) AIB, April 2006.

'a thoroughly triangular bridge: its cross section is a triangle and its sides are triangular trusses'.

G Nelson 1990.

This bridge carries a footpath over the River Averon or Alness River in the middle of Alness (NH66NE 34) and a short distance downstream from the Old Bridge NH66NE 21. The river here forms the boundary between the parishes of Alness (to the W) and Rosskeen (to the E).

The location assigned to this record defines the midpoint of the structure. The available map evidence indicates that it extends from NH c. 65446 69592 to NH c. 65467 69599.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 21 April 2006.
