A well preserved Middle Bronze Age dagger of Group 1, 7 inches long, and engraved with hatched triangles (Evans 308) was found at Pitcaithly (B A V Trump 1962) or Pitkaithly (J Evans 1881) Perthshire. (Pitkeathley area NO 1115, 1116, 1117). It is in the National Museum of Antiquities, Edinburgh.

(Dirk of class I with grooves, ribs and channels). Is said to have been found at 'Pitcaithly', but came to museum in a collection with a large amount of Irish material. Dirk with rounded trapezoidal butt having two rivet-holes with plug-rivets; omega hilt-mark; midrib bordered by three grooves and rib; point defined by two grooves; butt end of midrib decorated with transverse band of hatching and pendant triangles, the latter showing hatching on one side of blade; fine black and gold water patina; length 17.7cm, width 5.0cm. National Museum of Antiquities, Edinburgh, DJ 20.
