Archaeology Notes

NO11NE 80 c. 182 184.

Two gateway pillars, inscribed D M and A D (for David Moncrieff and his wife Anne Dundas) 1708 used to stand near the churchyard gate, at the entrance to the now vanished Laird's house of Easter-Rhynd.

J Ballingal 1905.

The lairds house that stood at Easter Rhynd (NO11NE 48) and the pair of gate piers that stood at its entrance have been removed, and there is nothing to indicate their sites.

Information from RCAHMS (JRS), 3 December 1996.
