Archaeology Notes

NG87SW 33 82268 73453.

This site was visited as part of the RCAHMS Scottish Farm Buildings Survey on 21 August 2000. The farmstead consists of two main buildings. A linear range to the N is aligned from W to E and comprises a stable and a byre. At the W end of the range, and set at a right angle to it, is a separate barn. Previously thatched, but now with a modern corrugated iron roof, the barn retains 5 or 6 of the original wooden cruck frames. A ruined shepherd's cottage is situated a short distance to the NE.

Information from RCAHMS (ACD) 23 January 2008; NMRS MS 2560/281
