Archaeology Notes

NJ51SW 94 53032 10641.

This mid-19th-century farmstead has a shallow U-shaped plan. It contained a five-horse stable and a loft above which provided accommodation for farm labourers. There were also two byres, a small threshing barn with a granary above, evidence of a horse engine of open-walk type and three gig houses. Details include ventilation ducts. The farmstead is built of roughly squared pink granite rubble and has slate roofs. When visited in 2000 it had been converted to non-agricultural use.

Information from RCAHMS (SS), 27 February 2006.
