Shaws Bridge, Shawbridge Street, built 1934, replacing a two-arch masonry bridge. A two-span plate-girder bridge with solid granite parapet, spanning the White Cart Water.

This bridge carries Shawbridge Street, an unclassified public road, over the White Cart Water within the Pollokshaws area of SW suburban Glasgow. It is depicted, but not noted, on the 1989 edition of the OS 1:10,000 map.

Activities

Photographic Survey (25 February 2009 - 17 March 2009)

A series of eight Level 1 Photographic Surveys were undertaken along the route of the proposed development of the White Cart Water Flood Prevention Scheme. The surveys concentrated on several bridges and retaining walls located within the urban section of the development. This work forms part of Contract 2 of the Scheme, and were undertaken during 25th February 2009 to 17th March 2009.
