Archaeology Notes

HU43NE 13.04 47132 39029

The Battery Observation Post (BOP) is situated immediately W of the S gun-emplacement and is a single storey reinforced concrete building.

The viewing platform faces E and the pillar for the range finding equipment is situated near to the front. There is a compartment with window attached to the NE side and the entrance is also on NE via one of the sunken corridors or passageways, of which only the lower portion survives.

Internally there is evidence for shelving and cabling, but little else can be seen.

Visited by RCAHMS (DE, AL), 7 October 1998.
