Ryat Linn Reservoir [NAT]

This reservoir forms a major element of the Balgray Reservoir complex. It has been formed by damming the Brock Burn, and crosses the boundary between the parishes of Neilston and Mearns.

This reservoir was built in 1847-8 under the powers of the 1846 Act (Act of Parliament, 9 & 10 Victoria I, c. cccxlvii). The reservoir covers 8.5 hectares (21 imperial acres) and can hold 12 upto million cubic feet of water.
