Archaeology Notes

NN59SE 26.01 5879 9068

A water tank, covered with a concrete vault, 4m x 2m, was recorded during a detailed archaeological survey of Strathmashie Community Forest near Laggan, Highland. The tank was apparently built some time in the 1940s and supplies water to Strathmashie House. The survey was carried out to assess the evidence for past human use and to ascertain whether there was enough archaeology to develop a heritage trail in the forest.
