Architecture Notes (29 August 2022)

Portcullis House was recorded as part of the Threatened Buildings Survey on 3rd March 2022. A planning application 21/02557/FUL has been lodged to demolish the building and replace it with a mixed use development on a considerably larger scale. Portcullis House was designed by E S Boyer and Partners and built 1970-3. It was built on a site created by the construction of the M8 motorway and was part of the development that included Charing Cross Tower. The offices were designed to house HM Customs and the Inland Revenue.
