Archaeology Notes

NN59SE 49 5774 9011

Located at the edge of a track are the remains of a possible cairn. It was recorded during a detailed archaeological survey of Strathmashie Community Forest near Laggan, Highland. The survey was carried out to assess the evidence for past human use and to ascertain whether there was enough archaeology to develop a heritage trail in the forest. The amorphous stone pile that makes up the possible cairn is approximately 10m x 6m and is 0.5m in height.
