Archaeology Notes

NN58NE 18 5873 8974

A possible routeway or track was recorded here during a detailed archaeological survey of Strathmashie Community Forest near Laggan, Highland. The survey was carried out to assess the evidence for past human use and to ascertain whether there was enough archaeology to develop a heritage trail in the forest. It measures 4m to 5m in width and is defined as a slightly raised area from the surrounding ground level. Its location corresponds to the drove route marked on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps.
