Archaeology Notes

NO06SW 4 0451 6431.

Near the schoolhouse at Cottertown (prob. Straloch - NO 0463) there is a Witch's Stone. (Article deals with standing stones).

F R Coles 1908

The Witch's Stone (C Glen, forester, Straloch) was located at NO 0451 6431. It is a huge erratic boulder c. 7.0m. high with a base roughly 7.0m. square. It is also known as 'Clach Mhor' but there do not appear to be any traditions or legends associated with it.
