Thurso, 18th Mar. 'The sloop DIANA, Brown, of Arbroath, bound to Dundee, and the PROSPEROUS, Robertson, of Stornoway, were driven on shore at Scrabster the same evening: master and two men of the former drowned: crew of the latter saved.'

Source: The Marine List, LL, No. 9991, London, Monday March 23 1846.

NMRS, MS/829/72 (no. 8074).

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative.

The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), possibly suggesting her successful recovery.
