Kilmarie Tiny estate hamlet contemporary with Kilmarie Slated cottages have eaves boards, verandah columns and other painted timberwork; gabled porches with sunflower finials. Dun Ringill, 1st millennium bc Complex roundhouse/semibroch structure above Loch Slapin, refashioned c.14 th century as the first residence in Skye of the Mackinnon chiefs (later abandoned for Kyleakin). This was one of the six 'castells' on the island listed by Dean Monro in the mid-16th century. In the curtilage are remains of two medieval lime-mortared buildings.
