Archaeology Notes

NL69SW 56 6269 9467

A line of three cairns, each with clear traces of a horizontal kerb, were recorded during a survey on Barra and Vatersay in 1992. They have a diameter of 5.5m, 7m and 5m. The kerbs of the cairns almost touch each other, and the impression is of a small, contemporary barrow/cairn cemetery.
