On the Square's north side: a terrace of 19th century estate cottages ending with Bank House, 1855, a double-pile former bank with steep, gabletted dormers and spikey finialled porch. On the west side (site of former kennels), Hurd Rolland Partnership's APRS awardwinning housing development of 1993 for Highland Council, building upon traditional forms and materials with a skill that somehow just eludes the newer development behind.
