Auchtertyre House, 18th century Tacksman's house which played host to James Hogg in 1803, reached by a short tree-lined avenue; later window enlargements and dormers. Coll Macdonell, 4th of Barrisdale, moved here from Loch Hourn c.1790 and spent £700 erecting the fine set of farm buildings that survive here today, albeit in a somewhat dilapidated state. The cruck-framed barn (presumably originally thatched) is of the traditional Lochalsh/Kintail style, with louvred ventilation panels and rounded corners.
