Lienassie, early 19th century, with earlier core A tacksman's house on the boundary between fertile Strath Croe and the wilderness of Inverinate Forest, probably owing its present form to William Laidlaw (1780-1845), Walter Scott's steward/secretary and devoted friend. He held the tack here and laid out a tree-lined avenue from the house to the river. Nearby, in matching Inverinate Estate livery of maroon and cream, is a buttressed threshing barn of the Kintail type.
