Field Visit (19 January 1989)

NO06SE 114 0558 6444

Situated towards the bottom of the strip-fields that extend across the SW face of a ridge some 450m NE of Castle Pirnie cottage, there are the remains of a four-compartment, round-ended building with an enclosure on its SSW side. The building measures 18.5m WNW-ESE by 4.4m over turf-covered stone wall-footings up to 1.1m in thickness and 1.1m in height (in eight courses). A large earthfast boulder has been incorporated into the line of the wall on the NNE side and the entrances are probably in the SSW side.

Visited by RCAHMS (JRS) 19 January 1989.

RCAHMS 1990.
