NMRS REFERENCE

Formerly known as Easter Inverchroskie.

(Undated) information in NMRS.

A marriage-lintel is set above the central ground-floor window of the S front of Balvarran House (18th century with later additions). The lintel, which has been recut and is badly effaced, seems to bear the date 1641. Pont (c.1600) gives the name as 'Inner-Chrosky'; Stobie (1783) depicts a mansion.

Visited by RCAHMS (IMS), 11 November 1988.
