NO06NE 62 0856 6519

This farmstead comprises three buildings, their walls reduced to low banks or footings. Two of the buildings are set with their long axes across the contour; the better preserved, which is the smaller measures at least 11.5m from ENE to WSW by 4.5m transversely overall, whilst the larger, which lies upslope and to the NE, measures 18m from ENE to WSW by 5.7m transversely overall. The third building lies to the SE; it is set parallel to the contour, adjoined on the SW by a square enclosure 12.2m across, and measures 9m from NW to SE by 4.3m transversely overall.

Some 70m to the NE (NO 0862 6523) and 45m to the ESE (NO 0861 6516) there are a further two buildings measuring respectively 9.8m from ESE to WNW by 4m transversely overall and 10.7m from NW to SE by 3.8m transversely overall.

Situated 60m to the SE (NO 0861 6514) there is a kiln-and-chamber; the bowl is 1.6m in diameter and a flue-lintel is still in place. It is possible that the remains are to be associated with the farmstead of 'Rinnaconer' which is depicted on Stobie's map (1783).
