Archaeology Notes

NO05NW 4 0082 5860.

At NO 0082 5860, on a rise, is a possible hut circle measuring 13.2m SE-NW by 11.0m SW-NE between wall centres. Entrance gap in the SE. Inside and round the NW arc there is an irregular depression which is probably the result of later mutilation.

About 16.0m to the ESE is a circular enclosure measuring 8.0m in diameter with a well preserved wall 1.0m thick and a narrow SE entrance. It seems to be late, possibly contemporary with nearby shielings.

Surveyed at 1/10,000.
