At the junction of Restalrig Terrace with East Restalrig Terrace, there is a wall, running athwart the street and at the top of a slope to the SW. It appears to be the edge of a platform with another slope down, about 100m to the E, although the street cuts the platform and the houses on the S side are higher than those on the N. This is on the site of one of the gun batteries recorded in the 1560 plan of the Siege of Leith.
