Activities

Field Visit (27 October 1987)

NO05NE 64 0500 5572.

A scatter of four cairns and two banks is visible on a broad terrace. Parts of the terrace are littered with uncleared stones revealed by intense burning, but towards the leading edge of the terrace traces of narrow cultivation rigs have been revealed where the thin surface peat has been burnt away. The rigs are about 1.2m wide between the centres of their furrows and they are aligned roughly E/W. At least one cairn lies within the ridged area and there are also two other irregular scatters of stone on its S side (not surveyed).

Visited by RCAHMS (SPH) 27 October 1987.
