Description: Graveyard associated with a chapel. Non-denominational chapel used by pupils and staff of Gordonstoun School. Michael Kirk erected 1705 as mausoleum to Sir Robert Gordon, on site of demolished OgStoun Parish Church. Originally an open shell over family vault, glazed c1900. Michael Kirk contains large memorials to Gordon and Gordon-Cumming families, also a memorial window. Graveyard is that of Ogstoun Parish Church, and contains a mercat cross variously dated as 12th or 13th Century. Flat stones from 17th to 18th Centuries. Very few 19th and early 20th Century stones. Tombstones to Gordonstoun staff etc post 1946. Memorials to Gordon and Gordon-Cumming families within Kirk. The Gordon Memorial gives a very good genealogy of the family. The Mercat Cross is a good example of its type.
