A Prisoner-of-war camp noted in R J C Thomas, Project Report (Twentieth Century Military Recording Project, Prisoner-of-War Camps [1939-1948]), National Monuments Records Centre, English Heritage, July 2003 has been identified from vertical air photographs (CPE/Scot/UK/262, 3039-3040, flown 14 August 1947), in an area to the S of the Braco Road and W of Cowden Road.
The prison camp consists of at least 33 huts set around the N and W sides of a rectangular fenced area with an additional 14 huts for staff outside the fence and immediately to the E. Most of the huts would appear to be of the Nissen type.
It is not known whether there are any remains of this camp as modern maps show that a new housing estate consisting of Langside Drive, Lennoch Circle and Ruchill Place have been built on this site.
