The ISLE OF ORNSAY, McGowan, from Belfast to Wick, struck on a rock 28th ult., at Castle Moil, Isle of Skye, and would not be got off till spring tides. Cargo landed with scarcely any damage.'

Source: The Marine List, LL, No. 6662, London, Tuesday August 9 1831.

NMRS, MS/829/71 (no. 6786).

Castle Moyle or Castlemoyle [Caisteal Maol: NG72NE 1] is at NG 758 263.

The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably suggesting her successful recovery.
