Archaeology Notes

NJ34SW 496 ND 33385 44888 (centred)

An area of rig-and-furrow is visible in a field of rough pasture about 350m SE of Thrumster House (ND34NW 20). The rigs measure up to 7m in breadth and are aligned NW and SE. An aerial photograph (OS 22 87 071) taken in 1988 shows that the rigs once extended across most of the field, but on the date of visit they were only visible in the NE corner.
