Field Visit (17 June 2004)

ND34SW 458 ND 32150 42066

This monument is situated on the summit of a low ridge in a pasture field 470m to the NW of Langstane. It comprises a roughly pyramidal boulder measuring a maximum of 2m by 1.6m and 0.7m in height, on top of which has been placed a rectangular block of stone measuring 1.4m by 0.9m by 0.65m in height. The NE edge of the ridge has been quarried, and shallow depressions on the summit are probably the result of surface quarrying.
